Design on a Dime Miami 2016 Launch
Miami, FL – January 11, 2016 – Housing Works, a New York-based leading advocacy organization for HIV/AIDS, officially kicked off Design on a Dime at Wynwood Lab. The non-profit organization, whose national campaign is to end AIDS in the U.S. by 2025, is taking the popular fundraising event on the road for the very first time, with Miami as its only confirmed city. Design on a Dime has taken place solely in NYC for the last 12 years. Andrew Greene, SVP for Housing Works, said at the launch party, “According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 5,300 individuals were diagnosed with HIV in Florida in 2013. That’s more than any other state in the country, so it only makes sense to bring Design on a Dime to Miami, and I know that this city can the lead nationally on ending the AIDS epidemic.”
The Design on a Dime launch party brought together tastemakers and South Florida’s top interior designers including Anne Rue, Doreen Chambers, Giselle Loor, Joseph Fava, Juan Carlos Arcila-Duque, Keith Powell, Maggie Cruz, Michael Dolatowski, Michael Scigliano, Miguel Lewis, Mike Stake, Oskar Torres, Robert Brown and Todd Davis.
