R. David New Exhibits Laser-Etched Artwork at Stewart Fine Art
Boca Raton, FL – December 10, 2015 – South Florida-based blind artist and fashion designer R. David New showcased his new and original artwork in a special art exhibition at Stewart Fine Art. New, who lost his sight in 2001 from a rare eye disease, uses an innovative technique to create translucent, sharp images with 3D effects on crystalline glass. Each laser-etched design takes New about 30 hours to complete. On display at the gallery were New’s latest creations, which pay homage to old Hollywood glamour with celebrity portraits of Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor, as well as landmarks such as The White House. In addition, New displayed his original artwork featuring The Taj Mahal, the $2 Bill, and Hollywood actor Steve Guttenberg, and introduced guests to his new fashion line Bulletproof, which includes the bullet-resistant material Kevlar. R. David New’s exhibition will be on display at Stewart Fine Art until January 31, 2016.
