Fashion Project Celebrates Barbara Hulanicki: Biba and Beyond at Books & Books Bal Harbour
Bal Harbour, FL – October 15, 2015 – Fashion Project at Bal Harbour Shops celebrated the irrepressible Barbara Hulanicki. Hulanicki is the founder of one of most iconic boutique brands in history: the gorgeous, raffish, and trendsetting Biba. Cristina Favretto, head of Special Collections at the University of Miami Libraries, spoke with the Polish-born Hulanicki about the Biba years as well as her time designing luxury hotel interiors for Chris Blackwell in Miami Beach, her recent show at the Victoria and Albert Museum, being made a OBE, and her fascinating life of fashion, art, and ideas. Also on view at Fashion Project through November 5 is FP03: The Past, the third in a series of exhibitions organized by Judith Clark. Fashion Project is an experimental space sponsored by Bal Harbour Shops and located on its third level. Its curatorial projects and programs explore fashion and the culture of what we wear. Events and programs are complimentary and open to the public.
