The Miami Foundation’s 2015 Community Grants Reception: Building Bridges Through Community Investment

Miami, FL – June 23, 2015 –  The Miami Foundation announced the funding of 75 local organizations that will share more than $1.2 million at their annual grant making celebration. With the crowd of 150 supporters, grantees, and civic leaders assembled at the Miami Center for Architecture & Design, the foundation presented a robust grantee slate improving quality of life in Greater Miami. The Miami Foundation’s Community Grants program, supported by more than 100 donors with permanently endowed funds at the foundation, identified nonprofits addressing housing affordability, legal rights for immigrant children and youth transitioning out of foster care, among other issues impacting quality of life for Miamians. The foundation used the 2014 Our Miami Report’s insights to connect donors’ original intent with current challenges and opportunities facing Miami-Dade and the organizations working on them.
