Miami, FL – April 18, 2015 – Over 1,200 of South Florida’s ‘brightest stars’ gathered at the Hilton Miami Downtown on Saturday evening to raise over $1 million at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science’s stellar 13th Annual Galaxy Gala, themed “Aqua Lumière.” The gala was followed by the Big Bang 2015: H2Glow after-party, a nightlife-inspired bash hosted by the Frost Science Young Patrons. The range of attendees varied from South Florida business, civic, philanthropic, and cultural leaders. Since first starting, the Galaxy Gala has helped raise money for the development of the new Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science, a state-of-the-art facility whose construction is already underway in downtown Miami’s Museum Park. It is scheduled to open in summer 2016, and will serve as the venue for future Galaxy Gala and Big Bang events. Hosted by Chief Meteorologist John Morales of NBC 6 South Florida, they celebrated the evening with the playful and scientific interaction of light and water, and featured a water and light interactive graffiti experience by French artist Antonin Fourneau.  Latin GRAMMY®-nominated artist Debi Nova was in attendance, and put on a flawless performance, along with entertainment from Drew T and DJ Blaze Carreras. Throughout the evening, guests could be seen participating in the interactive photo booth, provided by WOW Factor, that allowed guests to envision themselves in the new Museum, along with a massive video screen previewing video content that is soon to be showcased inside the new Museum’s Living Core Aquarium. Later in the evening, the H2Glow after party kicked off with a cocktail reception featuring glow-in-the-dark graffiti chalk boards, glow sticks and balloons, dancers and smoke machines from Kyrogenifex. Many of the attendees who have contributed more than their fair share and helped make this gala happen include Big Bang Co-Chairs Ali Lamadrid, Cristina Mas and Lena Lowell, Co-Chairs of the Museum’s Board of Trustees and Philanthropic Chairs of the Galaxy Gala, Trish and Dan Bell, Shelly & Marko Dimitrijevic and Jennifer & Gabriel Montoya.
