Fort Lauderdale, FL – February 4, 2015 – Kicking off  its yearlong 30th anniversary schedule of events for design professionals and design enthusiasts, DCOTA recently welcomed several hundred design professionals, design enthusiasts and media insiders to Winter Market 2015, two full days of demonstrations and discussions featuring legendary designers, editors and industry icons. The keynote panel presentation (Decorators Tell You How to Do It) was chaired by Paige Rense, Editor Emeritus of Architectural Digest. Appearing with Ms. Rense on the all-star panel were three of the design industry’s most esteemed icons: Mario Buatta,Marjorie Reed Gordon and Richard Keith Langham, who shared helpful advice and amusing anecdotes during a free-wheeling conversation. Afterwards, attendees had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the panel members at a special lunch reception hosted by Donghia.

One highlight of Winter Market 2015 was the presentation of DCOTA’s prestigious 2015 Stars of Design and Stars on the Rise Awards. Charles S. Cohen, President/Owner of DCOTA, personally handed out the striking crystal trophies to each of the winners, including the Lifetime Achievement Award to Paige Rense, Editor Emeritus of Architectural Digest. The seven Stars of Design winners were Deborah Wecselman, Bruce Brosch, Adler Guerrier, Ken Pao, Carlos Suarez, W. Christian Busk and Courtney Crown. This year’s Stars on the Rise award winners were designers Jay Britto, Sandra Diaz-Velasco and Cristina Villalon.
