4th Annual Wine, Women, & Shoes Presented by Sergio Rossi
Miami, FL – February 4, 2015 – More than 600 of Miami’s most philanthropic and fashion-forward ladies gathered to celebrate the 4th Annual Wine, Women & Shoes (WW&S) presented by Sergio Rossi, benefiting the children and families at Miami Children’s Hospital. The sold-out fete took place at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami and raised more than $600,000 for Miami Children’s Hospital. Created for women who enjoy fine wine, great style, and supporting a noble cause, WW&S is one of the fastest-growing charity luncheon series in the country. Guests were treated to a sophisticated day of wine tasting, a silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind items, a delicious lunch, as well as a fashion show with featured items from Neiman Marcus Coral Gables. Additionally, guests in attendance were able to shop the exclusive marketplace featuring Ana Mari Ortega, Artesano, Cudesso, Dennis Basso, Eberjey, En Avance, Lostmarc’h, Monisha Melwani Jewelry, Neiman Marcus Coral Gables, Purificación García, Sergio Rossi, and Sirissima/Clement Willoch.
An element added to the program this year, for the first time ever, was the Key to the Closet initiative, which was an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a fabulous lady to unlock the chance to win a year’s worth of Sergio Rossi shoes. The winner, Rosana Gorrin, will now receive a $1,000 gift certificate every month, for 12 months, to the Sergio Rossi Bal Harbour boutique. The “Shoe Guys” were also a fun part of the program, literally showcasing the latest women’s fashions on silver platters. Lisa Petrillo, CBS 4 Emmy Award- winning entertainment reporter, proudly served as this year’s Master of Ceremonies. The highlight of the luncheon was the uplifting story of Miami Children’s Hospital patient, Gracie. Her mom, Karin Penkala was in attendance and shared with the audience their experience of how they selected Miami Children’s Hospital and the team of dedicated physicians to entrust with their daughter’s life. Gracie was diagnosed with Down’s syndrome and a congenital heart condition prior to her birth, which required complex surgery.
