Miami, FL – November 19, 2014 – The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum launched the Helen Venero Artist Lecture Series on Wednesday evening with a lecture presentation by the artist, Ryan Trecartin. With a slate of exhibitions of new and recent work (created with his principal collaborator Lizzie Fitch) currently on view throughout the world and the upcoming New Museum Triennial, which he is co-curating with Lauren Cornell, the artist discussed a range of his projects with students from FIU, as well as local arts and community leaders. The Helen Venero Lecture Series brings the world’s most important and innovative contemporary artists to the museum twice a year. Funded by a generous gift from Agustin F. Venero, the series seeks to expand the understanding of the work of leading figures in the art world. Ryan Trecartin’s work is seen as a watershed for its visionary understanding of the profound shifts in culture and social interaction that are defining our current moment.
