Ballet Nacional De España Presents “Sorolla” at Arsht Center
Miami, FL – November 6, 2014 – Following its sold-out, critically acclaimed Arsht Center debut three years ago, Ballet Nacional De España made its triumphant return to Miami with its newest brilliantly staged full-length production, Sorolla. Performed by 40 of the company’s exquisite dancers and set to a live musical score, Sorolla is a breathtaking dance kaleidoscope illustrating the many provinces of Spain, each region brought stunningly to life by its local dance traditions, music and costumes. Sorolla was created to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of artist Joaquín Sorolla and the 35th anniversary of Ballet Nacional De España. The performance, sponsored in part by TotalBank, is part of the 2014-2015 Knight Masterworks Season – Signature Dance Series presented with generous support by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Following the incredible performance guests enjoyed a fabulous post-reception soiree where they were treated to a meet and greet with the dancers as well as Director of Ballet Nacional De España, Antonio Najarro.
