Hollywood, FL – October 9, 2014 – South Florida Design Park celebrated the arrival of Autumn with a thrilling event-filled Fall Market day bringing together architects, designers, design authors and tastemakers alike. J Nelson and John Hall Nelson continued the ‘Decorators’ Library Lecture Series’ with internationally acclaimed authors Maureen Footer and Stephen Salny, who presented ‘American Design Legends’.  The duo discussed the eponymous lives and careers of George Stacey, Francis Elkins, Michael Taylor, David Adler and William Hodgins.  Footer said ‘ The visual excitement at  J Nelson  defines the edge where glamour  and  modernity meet.  Like George Stacey, Nelson takes classicism and   jazzes it up with his eye for the new.’  Following the lecture guests toasted with Champagne Laurent-Perrier Rosé  and Macarons from Ladurée.

Jerry Pair hosted Phyllis and William Taylor of Miami based Taylor & Taylor. The husband-wife team discussed from their recent publication ‘Classic Florida Style – The Houses of Taylor & Taylor’.  ‘We believe that Florida is not only a state, but a state of mind – especially as reflected in design.’ Ms. Taylor writes in the Preface. Guests enjoyed lunch at Snaidero with a presentation from Sub-Zero, while Scalamandre, Stephen Turner and Grange hosted a home automation presentation by Lutron  and South Florida Blinds and Drapery.  Judith Norman NOW introduced Saccaro to the Florida market, while Stark Carpet introduced their latest textiles and carpets beginning with early morning breakfast through mid-afternoon Mojitos. Late afternoon brought FOX Television host Sam Azar to Jerry Pair for an upcoming segment of ‘Living in Luxury’.
