Miami Beach, FL – May 29, 2014 – In the midst of an Eastern Conference showdown, some female members of the Miami Heat family found a different cause to fight for, Type 1 Diabetes. The fabulous shop till you drop event took place on Thursday evening at Miami’s trendy CURVE boutique and was hosted by Shannon Allen, wife of Miami Heat guard, Ray Allen, whose six-year old son Walker has T1D. Merchandised to perfection, a slew of summer offerings punctuated the intentionally raw space. In just three hours most of the pieces had been picked over by none other than fellow Miami Heat wife, Jenine Howard, Andria Holtz, Marisa Cisneros, Cynthia Landsberger, Sarah Mirmelli, Alicia Piazza, Jilian Sanz and Andreina Cisneros. All attendees came together to raise funds and put an end to the search for a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. Of the money raised, proceeds were divided between the JDRF and the DRI. While browsing the hottest items in town, guests sipped on Côtes de Provence import, M de Minuty rosé and nibbled on delicious hors d’oeuvres provided by Baoli.
