Lazy Sunday
Miami Beach, FL – September 8, 2013 – Sunday—technically, it may be the first day of the week, but in these parts we treat it like it’s the last hurrah. With summer dwindling away, those Sundays spent socializing, lounging and living the good life are becoming less and less. Enjoy them while they last. Here are just a few suggestions on how to make the most of the day of rest.
10:30 a.m. Spinning at Flywheel
Maybe last night is a bit of a blur. It’s OK. Find redemption in a good workout, like a 45-minute class at Flywheel on Sunset Harbour Drive. Sweat out those toxins to make room for more. This is, after all, Sunday.
11:30 a.m. at JugoFresh
Next stop: hydration. Between your weekend antics and that killer spinning class, you’re body could use a nice, cold refreshment from JugoFresh. Start with a saca lo shot (for further detoxification), then loot the stocked fridge for a P.A.M.P.ered Ginger.
1 p.m. at Cecconi’s
You’ve gymed, juiced and showered. No wonder you’re starved. The endless brunch at Cecconi’s at Soho Beach House is just the thing to refuel before the rest of your Sunday adventure. Start at breakfast (pancakes, waffles, eggs), work your way to pastries, skip over to lunch-like salads, have a little risotto and end with pasta or pizza. Careful of eating yourself into a food coma, there’s still plenty to see and do.
3 p.m. Lazy Sunday at The Standard
Your fun in the sun adventure begins now. Slip into your bathing suit, head over to The Standard and park it at the pool on the yellow lounge chairs. It is, after all, Lazy Sunday. And that’s your mission, as you choose to accept it. Order a drink or two or three, eat barbecue, stare at the eye candy, talk to the eye candy, take in the tunes. Wind up in the pool.
7 p.m. Drinks at The Broken Shaker
First things first: Disco nap before drinks at The Broken Shaker. With Elad Zvi concocting recipes, you know whatever libation you opt for, be it a five spice old fashioned, a papaya shrub caipirinah or spicy margarita, is worth driving around in circles looking for parking. Take a seat at one of the mismatched tables and chair sets, play a quick game of Jenga, knock back that drink and reminisce on the day’s activities.

9 p.m. Dinner at The Forge
Dinner is served. At your favorite table at the Miami Beach institution, The Forge, nonetheless. The perfect ending to a perfect day requires kale salad, bone in prime filet mignon, crispy truffled French fries and apple pie sundae. Yes, Sunday. Awaiting the next one is going to take a full week.
