Miami, FL – August 1, 2013 – To celebrate the start of this year’s program, Miami Spice partnered with the Miami New Times’ Iron Fork event for the official Miami Spice Kick-off. The Iron Fork event showcased a competition bewteen two of Miami’s finest chefs, Jamie De Rosa from Tongue & Cheek as well as Giorgio Rapicavoli from Eating House. Famed veteran chef Allen Susser oversaw the competition which was won by Giorgio Rapicavoli. The winner received the prestigious Iron Fork Award, signifying the area’s top toque. The Miami Spice kick-off event also featured entertainment by the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical Legally Blonde presented by Norwegian Cruise Line, the sponsor of the VIP section. Legally Blonde is set to be the headline entertainment on Norwegian’s new Norwegian Getaway, the largest ship to homeport year-round in PortMiami and set to debut in February.
