Miami Beach, FL – June 12, 2013 – Music industry legend-turned-hotelier, Chris Blackwell, had South Beach “crushing on Jamaica” on Wednesday as he hosted the Island Outpost party at Soho Beach House’s Tiki Garden. The party channeled the laidback-luxe vibe of his Jamaica resorts with lots of Blackwell Rum, authentic Jamaican bites, and reggae tunes by DJ Tom Laroc. Everyone got to try and collect all of the brightly colored buttons with quintessential Jamaican phrases like “one love” and “big up.” The button to nab was the elusive “I heart CB,” which one could only get from the man himself. Hospitality notables joined Blackwell like Josh Wagner, Amy Sacco, Savannah Buffet, Joe Galdo, and Rachel Harrison. Blackwell was in town for the first annual LE Miami conference. He launched Island Outpost here in 1991 with the opening of The Marlin Hotel on Collins Avenue.
