Miami, FL – June 14, 2013 – The Related Group celebrated the groundbreaking and start of construction at the sold-out Iconbay in the up-and-coming Edgewater neighborhood. Developer Jorge Perez, along with Mayor Regalado and Commissioner Sarnoff, planted the first tree in the Iconbay’s highly anticipated bayfront park with Miami-Dade’s “Million Trees Miami” project. The Related Group has joined with YoungArts to exclusively offer YoungArts alumni the opportunity to submit proposals on how to integrate sculptures, murals, video installations, and more onto the blank canvas of Iconbay. Artists and their works selected will receive a commission to install their work as part of the art collection at the 43-story tower on Biscayne Bay’s waterfront. Award-winning Arquitectonica has been commissioned to design the condominium development, as well as the interior public spaces and the bayfront park. Just some of the amenities that will be at Iconbay include private elevator access to every residence, tennis courts, fitness center, spa, and infinity pool with private cabanas, private theater, and more.
