Miami Beach Polo World Cup – day 4
Miami Beach, FL – April 28, 2013 – The last and final day of the 9th annual La Martina Miami Beach Polo World Cup sponsored by Grey Goose ended with a grand finale. The final teams competed against each other in the play-offs first, keeping everyone on their toes to see who would make it to the finals. It ended up being La Martina and The Raleigh Hotel/Comcast teams that went head-to-head for the championship world cup title on Sunday afternoon. Even celebrity chef Ingrid Hoffman had to get in on the action. The sun was glaring, and so were the opponents, as the teams raised their mallets and fought to the finish. The sporting event was broken up with a very spring time fashion show from Crystal Martin and her latest designs for the polo-going crowd. At the end of the day, it was The Raleigh Hotel/Comcast that won the tournament 12-10 in the final match, but each team definitely won their own bragging rights just for making it to the cup. John Gobin from The Raleigh Hotel/Comcast team was named MVP, and Santi Torres’ mare “Mary West” of the La Martina team received Best Playing Pony honors.
