Miami Beach, FL – May 1, 2013 – There’s a new Kith in town. And it’s only here for eight days. New York-based sneaker designer Ronnie Fieg has released two limited edition sneakers for Asics based on his two East Cost city loves: New York City and Miami. And what better way to launch them than by bringing them to those two cities. Since Kith has a Brooklyn and Manhattan store, they’ve posted up a pop-up shop in Miami Beach on Jefferson Avenue right by Lincoln Road. Opening day was celebrated by an exclusive preview the night before, with famous hip hop artist Pusha T coming by to scope out the brand new shoes.

The sneakers each represent two iconic sports teams with the color schemes, and are available for sale from May 2 to May 10 before they hit shelves in NYC on the 10th. The Ronnie Fieg x Asics “New York City” Gel Lyte III has New York Knicks cobalt blue and orange, while the Ronnie Fieg x Asics “Miami” has the Miami Dolphins colors of teal blue and orange. Miami’s eight day pop-up sneaker shop has two storefronts- the Kith Pop-Up “New York” at 1629 Jefferson Avenue and Kith Pop-Up “Miami” at 1627 Jefferson Avenue. Both stores were designed by Supermarket Creative from concept to fabrication, furnishings, visual merchandise, and installation. Each sells their respective city’s merchandise and of course, the sneaker that comes with custom laces and custom “Just Stance” socks for $145. Hurry in and get your fresh new kicks before they’re gone!

Terrence “Pusha T” Thornton & Ronnie Fieg

“The collaboration really started between myself and Asics, something that’s been going on since 2007. Since then, I’ve collaborated with over 25 different brands. I opened my own shop, Kith, in Manhattan and Brooklyn. We work with apparel and accessory brands.” – Ronnie Fieg

“The project was a collaborative effort between myself and seven other brands. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen, or done, before. I wanted to differentiate myself from the rest. These days it’s important to get creative and give people something different. And I think I brought that to Miami.” – Ronnie Fieg

“It started with my love for Miami. I’ve been coming here since I was a young kid. It’s my second favorite city in the United States. I wanted to create a project that brought New York to Miami and still paid homage to a city I really love.” – Ronnie Fieg

“Kith is a young brand, but in the last two years we’ve been able to take things to the next level. For the brand and for myself, this was as much as a challenge as it was an opportunity to gain a sense for the demographic in Miami. From the reaction we had, I think it’s safe to say Miami will be seeing a lot more of me.” – Ronnie Fieg
