If you’re like the rest of Miami, you probably don’t know what you’re doing yet this weekend. Lucky for you, it’s Friday and we’ve got your line-up of what to do right here with our brand spankin’ new weekend guide. On every Friday, World Red Eye will be bringing you a specially selected list of the hottest things going on for the weekend. Some of them are things we’ll also be at, covering all the action, and some of them we won’t be at but still think they’re going to be awesome. There’s so much constantly going on in Miami- in every area from DJs and musical acts to the arts and dining scene. There’s no reason to ever be sitting at home with nothing to do when we’ve got the great city of Miami as our backyard! We’re taking all the work out of it for you, and simplifying it down to this very essential list of things you need to check out. Maybe you can’t make all of them, but at least you know what’s going on and can pick one or two.

Start getting excited because there’s so much to do this weekend around town, and you don’t want to miss a beat. We’ve got some awesome stuff in store that’s reason enough as to why it’s so great to live in Miami. This weekend, you’ll laugh so hard you’ll probably pee your pants, cheer on our NBA Champions, jam out to some classic hip hop, and get a heavy dose of EDM. Take a look at the best things going on this weekend, and get out there!

2013 NBA Playoffs at Hyde AA Arena

Despite the fact that everyone seems to hate on Miami for being an anti-sports city, we do love our Miami Heat. There’s no shortage of love for The Big Three and the rest of the stellar athletes on the team, and this Sunday’s home game opens the 2013 NBA Playoffs as the Heat take on the Milwaukee Bucks. Not only do we have the home court advantage, but we also have the incredibly cool Hyde at the AA Arena experience, an outpost of the Hyde Beach spot at the SLS. So whether you’re in the stands or the lounge, or even watching from home, this is an opener you don’t want to miss.

Dirty South at STORY

The work week is over, and if you’re ready to rage, you’ll want to head to STORY tonight for Dirty South. The Dragon is doing his first set at the South of Fifth club since it opened, and it’s sure to be big. Last time he was here was last month for his set at LIV during Miami Music Week, where tons of major DJs came by. It was actually where Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding filmed part of their new video “I Need Your Love”.
