EDITION Residences
Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Ian Schrager, & William Pierce
Miami Beach, FL – February 22, 2013 – During all the food and wine festivities, Miami Beach got a very special visit from two big names in the hotel and restaurant industry: Ian Schrager and Jean-Georges Vongerichten. For the first time in 17 years, Ian Schrager, famed lifestyle and hotel innovator, paid a visit back to Miami. Schrager is a celebrity hotelier who is credited as the co-founder and co-creator of Studio 54. He made his mark on South Beach with his makeover of The Delano, has been credited with starting boutique hotels, and now is back at it again. The Residences at The Miami Beach EDITION is taking over the old Seville Beach hotel on 29th and Collins for 26 one-of-a-kind residences designed with world-renowned architect John Pawson.
Here’s where the food comes in: Schrager, in keeping with his nothing-less-than-the-best ideals, has partnered with internationally-acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten for the restaurant concepts for The Miami Beach EDITION. The 11-story building will have about 250 hotel rooms, with the top two floors holding the 26 unique residences, which will also have access to the restaurants by Vongerichten. This famous French chef has three and four-star restaurants around the world in the top culinary cities, has written five cookbooks, accepted many awards, and continues to be a leading name in the business. The duo hosted an intimate sunset cocktail party at the recently-opened EDITION residences sales pavilion last Friday evening in Miami Beach. Schrager and Vongerichten hosted New York and Miami’s top real estate brokers, along with other society, media and culinary notables in town for the South Beach Wine and Food Festival at the exclusive event. Vongerichten and his culinary team prepared delicious small bites for guests as they sipped champagne and heard details from Schrager about the concept, design, lifestyle and unique entertainment planned for The Residences at The Miami Beach EDITION and The Miami Beach EDITION as a whole- which is said to include a bowling alley and ice skating rink!
