Miami Beach, FL – December 13, 2012 – Jonathan Cheban may best be known as Kim Kardashian’s trusted BFF, but what’s catching our attention these days is the reality TV star’s new culinary venture: a Miami outpost of acclaimed New York sushi bar Sushi MiKasa situated at the Shelborne Hotel.

The Grand Opening of the restaurant took place last night, with a string of celebs (including Kim K and Scott Disick) in attendance to support the new restaurateur. Cheban is no stranger to Miami, and his new business means that he’ll be spending even more time in the Magic City. “I love Miami,” Cheban revealed exclusively to World Red Eye, “and I am so happy to be able to bring this high end sushi concept that New Yorkers have been lucky enough to have for years.”

While VIPs noshed on Sushi MiKasa specialties including Chilean Sea bass, Tuna Pizza and Kampachi Yellowtail, Cheban couldn’t help but express his profound appreciation for the evening’s turnout. “It’s such an incredible first night,” Cheban added, “and so many friends like Kim Kardashian, Scott Disick, Lance Bass, Adrienne and Chris Bosh and even my man Kimbo Slice came to support me and welcome me to Miami. I have been filming Kim and Kourtney Take Miami here for 3 months and now I get to stay here for a while!”
