Miami Beach, FL – October 19, 2012 – Pride and Joy BBQ, draft house and honky tonk can bed defined as: the love of something, heritage and rock and roll soul. Pride and Joy BBQ is being brought to you by Myron Mixon and longtime South Beach nightlife veteran Michael Saladino along with partners Pablo Cardenas, Jose Santa, Chris Mayer and Paul Thielecke.

Myron Mixon is a three-time world barbecue champion, the chief cook of the Jack’s Old South Competition Bar-B-Que Team, the star of TLC and Destination America’s BBQ Pitmasters and CBS’s Ultimate Barbecue Showdown, and the author of the New York Times bestselling cookbook Smokin’ with Myron Mixon: Recipes Made Simple, from the Winningest Man in Barbecue. He is widely recognized as the most successful and charismatic man in barbecue.

Mastering the art of BBQ’ing has led to the development of his own line of Jack’s Old South Grills and Smokers, as well as being the instructor for the Bar-B-Que Cooking School. In short, Myron is the man when it comes to BBQ.

Pride and Joy says it all. Michael Saladino wanted this to be more than just another restaurant. He wanted an environment that had fun, family and good music. Michael felt that Miami was missing a true southern BBQ joint so he designed the restaurant wanting it to invoke feelings of comfort, a place of familiarity, a restaurant that’s more than just a meal.

His vision of what that would mean to himself and others lead him to include elements of distressed industrial vintage BBQ smoke house and a seedy honky tonk where the beer is ice cold and Rock and Roll and Blues play. Myron’s Love for BBQ and Michael’s love for design and service along with great partners promises to offer value and quality with an amazing dining experience.
