Unnatural Exhibition Opening at Bass Museum
Miami Beach, FL – September 8, 2012 – Bass Museum of Art celebrated the opening of its newest exhibition, UNNATURAL, with a reception party that included music by DJ Terence Tabeau, complimentary cocktails, and a special artist walk-through. The exhibition, which presents scientific, romantic, conceptual, poetic, sensual and ecological concepts of nature through strategies that reflect 21st century technological advances, will run through Nov. 4, 2012.
Art enthusiasts received a first look at the exhibition, which is comprised of video art installations, photography and sculptures that blur the boundaries between traditionally represented nature and culture. The artists selected for UNNATURAL come from diverse cultural backgrounds, with a majority being Israeli-born. Artists in attendance included: Meirav Heiman, Yossi Ben Shoshan, Michal Shamir, Hilja Keading, Blane De St. Croix, Samantha Salzinger, Aziz + Cucher and Wendy Wischer. Notable guests included: Executive Director and Chief Curator Silvia Karman Cubiñá, President of the Board George Lindemann, Alan Randolph and Steven Rodriguez, Brian Ehrlich, Lida Rodriguez-Taseff and Oscar Sanchez, Jose Net and Jud Laird.
