The Shops at Ocean Drive Opening at MIA

Miami Beach, FL – May 31, 2012 – NewsLink®, operator of newsstands, gift shops and cafés at MIA and other leading U.S. airports, celebrated the grand opening of the largest collaboration of its kind with South Florida’s Ocean Drive Magazine®. The new concept, branded The Shoppes at Ocean Drive®, encompasses almost 10,000 square feet of retail space and is located in the American Airlines North Terminal at Concourse D near Gate 17.

Over 550 guests attended the soiree which featured elements from the magazine and department store brought to life including statuesque models mingling in the crowd wearing bright “candy” dresses inspired by It’s Sugar® and a break dance troupe performance sporting tracksuits from Zone 305 Sportswear™. Among the partygoers, several of Miami’s top dignitary officials visited the event including Commissioner Audrey Edmonson, Commissioner Barbara Jordan, Commissioner Xavier Suarez, Commissioner Dennis Moss, Commissioner Javier Souto and Mayor Carlos Gimenez who greeted the crowd and congratulated Raymond Kayal, Jr., NewslinkPresident and CEO, partner Chris Korge and Courtland Lantaff, Ocean Drive magazine publisher on the grand opening of the “über-hip new Shoppes at Ocean Drive and continued success on such a unique concept.” Airport Director Jose Abreu, Deputy Aviation Director for Business Relations and Development Miguel Southwell and Deputy Director, Operations Ken Pyatt were also on hand to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony which officially opened the event up to the public.
