Miami Beach, FL – March 4, 2012 – Miami-born and raised filmmaker Mitch Glazer had an excellent turn out for the screening of Starz Network Magic City at The Colony Theater on Lincoln Road which was part of Miami International Film Festival. The press had an opportunity to photograph, as well as interview a special ticket-only session with Mitch Glazer and the leading cast of Magic City. The event began with the screening at The Colony Theater but continued to party and ended the night at The Raleigh Hotel.

Writer and creator Mitch Glazer was born and raised in Miami Beach. His father, Len Glazer, was an electrical engineer, designing all the lighting for Miami Beach’s hottest ’50s hotels: The Fontainebleau, Eden Roc, and Deauville. His mother, Zelda Glazer, was a teacher who was voted “Teacher of the Year for the state of Florida” in 1971, head of the Miami Beach High English department and a prominent figure in the community. Mitch grew up in these fabulous hotels and even worked as a cabana boy at the Deauville in the 1970s. The story of Magic City began to take shape when Mitch combined his experiences growing up in Miami Beach’s hotel scene during this fascinating time with stories inspired by his family and friends.
