July 3, 2011 – For the guy who plays more pranks than anyone I know, I thought it only appropriate to NOT do his birthday post on his actual birthday. Besides, he knows better than ANYONE that WorldRedEye gets more hits on the Tuesday after a holiday weekend. The master of the “I stole your cell phone and text’ed everyone in your phonebook nasty messages” was really wanting me to pay homage to him …. I couldn’t resist. When looking back over the years with David, there have been so many laughs and good times, its hard to even pick which ones were the best. Last years post only had 15 photos, so this year, I thought I’d pay true respect. David, not only have you made South Beach the true international hot spot that it is, you have allowed ME to have the content so that almost 2 MILLION people worldwide have seen the FUN and the ENERGY coming from LIV nightclub each week. Your vision, which has always been so clear, to know what keeps people coming back to LIV night after night has been the very model that this blog has been based off of – and it works. Grutman, you seem to always know what works, which is what makes you the amazing businessman and nightlife impresario you have become. Thanks for being a visionary, a role model, and most of all … a great friend. Hope this year was your best ever !
