Miami, FL  – April 7,2011 – LegalArt, an organization geared to artists for the last 8 years with the assistance of legal services, made its debut to the public with their new building called The LegalArt Residency and their first annual fundraiser and auction event, ‘Private Eye’. Together  with artist and board chair, Daniel Arsham, opened its doors in 2010 launching the innovative Residency Program for local, national and international artists and visiting curators and writers that includes 7 residency studios.

SuperMarket Creative, Chivas, Magners and Red Bull, LegalArt’s executive director, Kathleen Carignan and board chair, Carolina Jayaram, welcomed guests to roam through the residency, the hot pink stairwell, visit the artist studios, sip on complimentary cocktails and taste delectable bites by Top Chef contestant and founder of NeMesis Cafe, Micah Edelstein.  Party-goers mingled with local artists, gallerists and collectors alike, including, Anthony Spinello, Kathryn Mikesell, Claire Breukel, Jiae Hwang, Manny Prieres, Pachi Giustinian and performance art by Clifton Childree.

Music was provided by The Vagabond’s Carmel Ophir and Sweat Records’ Lolo.  Guests included Anne Owen, Tony Cho, Michelle Stone, Hadley Henriette, Jose Ortiz, Amir Ben Zion & Eurydice, who had fun bidding on and viewing limited edition pieces by 8 of LegalArt’s resident artists including, TM Sisters and Julia Blaukopf, and 10 Behind the Scenes auction items for art lovers to get to know the artists and their process like mini golf with Agustina Woodgate or a bike tour of Wynwood Walls with Primary Flight.
