Miami Beach, FL – June 4, 2016 – The 17th Annual Mayor’s Ball hosted by Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos and Lourdes Gimenez to benefit United Way of Miami-Dade was a great success, raising almost $1.2 million for local programs that help create a more educated, financially stable, and healthy community. Almost 800 of Miami’s most influential leaders from business, government, and philanthropy gathered to celebrate the spirit of working together to build a stronger Miami. Presented by Suffolk Cares, the event was held at LIV at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. This is the fifth year Lourdes and Mayor Gimenez served as honorary chairs, carrying on the legacy created by former Mayor Alex Penelas and his wife, Lilliam, in 1998. United Way was selected as the beneficiary of Mayor’s Ball given its broad reach across Miami-Dade County and its residents. This years event was chaired by Vincent Signorello, president and CEO, FECI (Florida East Coast Industries), and his wife, Shannon, who were instrumental in updating the look and feel, even moving it to a nightclub for the first time.

2015 Cadillac Escalade Launch

Monday, November 11th, 2013

Udonis Haslem

Miami, FL – November 7, 2013 – With the holidays just around the corner, those who like a smooth ride can soon add the recently debuted 2015 Escalade to their list. Udonis Haslem and James Jones of the Miami Heat attended the launch party produced by Irie Music, Corp at Lou La Vie where guests sipped on cocktails by Stoli Elit and enjoyed CA catering. The sophisticated luxury SUV, now in its fourth generation, is an entirely new design both inside and out. Production of the 2015 Escalade will begin next spring in Arlington, TX for the standard model, as well as the extended-length ESV edition (with 14-inch longer wheelbase and approximately 20 inches more in overall length—enough for a third-row for passengers and 60-percent more cargo space). At the heart of the vehicle is the new 6.2 l V-8 engine and Magnetic Ride Control, the world’s fastest-reacting suspension system. At the launch of the event were plenty who can’t wait to see how it drives on the open road.

Miami Beach, FL – May 10, 2013 – Today is a very exciting, special day because we’re celebrating the 3 Year Anniversary of This website has become an epicenter of the latest happenings around the world in just three short years- which is quite an accomplishment. But it’s not exactly a surprise when you realize it was all started by the renowned celebrity photographer of South Beach: Seth Browarnik. He was one of the very first to introduce digital photography and became most known for his work in Ocean Drive magazine, capturing the biggest names at the hottest parties. After 10 years with the magazine, Browarnik decided to expand his creative outlet into the digital world as well as print. Since only about one to two percent of the photos he and his staff were taking actually ended up going to press, a website was the perfect solution for the rest of the thousands of photos that were being filed away into an archive.

This was how World Red Eye was born. Initially, Browarnik had only a couple other guys working for him, and created the website to give these young photographers a chance to show off their artistic side. It was conceived as a creative outlet for them to experiment with. But the website couldn’t thrive on artsy photos alone, and given the fact these guys were covering all kinds of events and parties around town, it turned into a way of showing what everyone was up to. Within four to six months, the site began to transform tremendously, and it was very clear what people wanted to see more of. There was an excitement to the nightlife, the parties, and of course, the celebrities. It wouldn’t have been possible to continue to deliver these photos to a growing reader base without the help of our friends and clients- from the PR agencies and the entire hospitality industry to the nightclub owners and the support of many celebrities and media outlets as well. Within the past three years, World Red Eye has grown tremendously, and began to take shape from a celebrity photo agency to a content creator that specializes in shooting events and celebrities around the world.

Celebrate this exciting anniversary with us as we see how the blog has evolved from day one to where it is today, and where it’s headed for the future.

WRE Launch Party

May 14, 2010 was the day went live, and it was the most thrilling moment for everyone involved. We finally got to see the fruition of our labors come to life and go viral. This of course caused for a big launch party celebration. The Raleigh Hotel held the big bash, and everyone was there. From family and friends to celebrities, making it the best party of 2010. Felix da Housecat, DJ Irie, David Barton, and Ruckus were just some of the famous faces who came out to celebrate. It was even launched live on NBC6, making quite an impression from the very first night.

First Posts on the Blog

While the site went live in May, the WRE team started compiling posts before then so readers would have more content readily available to them. It was a gradual transfer from the content on the WRE Facebook Page, where Browarnik and his photographers would post one photo from selected events they were shooting to keep everyone in the loop. This was how the first posts on the site were formatted as well- with one singular photo and a brief description of what the guys were up to. The very first posts that went up were from the South Beach Wine & Food Festival 2010- check them out below.

WRE as a Pseudo-Instagram

As mentioned before, the original idea behind the site was to give the photographers a creative outlet to let people know what they were up to- whether shooting around town, at an event, or during their travels. The first year had photos like the ones below, giving a glimpse into the day-to-day of these creative minds. You can notice how different the composition and formatting of the posts was just three years ago compared to now.

Guest Bloggers

In 2010, WRE introduced another cool component to the website to keep things fresh and interesting for the growing reader base: guest bloggers. And not just any guest bloggers. Because WRE has such great ongoing relationships with many celebrities and notables around town, we had “Apprentice” star and real estate mogul Katrina Campins, New York Knicks reporter and “TODAY Show” contributor Jill Martin, and Miami Heat’s own DJ Irie. These three brought a whole other element to the blog with their unique posts, and readers got to hear from them first hand, covering a variety of topics. Again, take note of the way photos were first sized and watermarked for the site, which is very different from today’s style.

Our Biggest Times of Year

The WRE team is always on the go, whether it be in Miami where we’re based, or in other parts of the country- even the world. But there are a couple times of year that get us so excited because we’re flooded with tons of things to cover. Every year, Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Festival are the biggest spring time events in Miami, while winter has Art Basel Miami Beach and the biggest New Years Eve blow-outs. We also cover festivals around the country like Coachella and Lollapalooza, plenty of fashion events in the big apple like New York Fashion Week, and even abroad like the original Art Basel in Switzerland. If you just look at the site, you’ll see we’re everywhere. That’s why we’re World Red Eye. We love being based in Miami for these incredible times of year, but we don’t miss a beat in all the other great cities. Here’s just a handful of photos from our landmark events over the past three years.

What has come to be another huge component of World Red Eye is the nightlife coverage. When Seth Browarnik started the site, he brought with him his expertise of shooting clubs and parties. As the WRE team started to add more of this onto the blog, there became an increasing demand to see more. What separates us from the masses is our selectivity. We don’t shoot everyone and everything. It’s about capturing the energy at the best events and nightclubs out there, and the people that make them a success. We photograph the right people- mixing celebrities with VIPs and socialites. It’s not about showing everybody and every shot we take. We’re picky for a reason, because if we weren’t, we’d be just like everyone else. It’s all about the look- having the most beautiful, hip, and unique people on our site.

Travel Contributors

Another unique aspect that brought a new look to the blog was when friends of our shared their photographs from their travels. From the Peruvian Amazon to India, we’ve had contributors show us their journeys through their eyes. Not only does it educate our readers about foreign destinations, but it also enhances the artistic and visual aspects of World Red Eye, making for a more well-rounded blog. We’re looking forward to bringing more of this back into rotation in the very near future, so stay tuned!

Stories & Editorial

Another currently evolving part of World Red Eye is the added amount of stories and editorial features. Those who have started following us since 2010 have noticed a shift in content, as we’re bringing more exclusive and inside stories to our readers. What started originally as a portfolio to show our most artistic photos, has now turned into a creative content agency, an online publication. The goal was always to create a voice within our community and generate a cult-like following as we educate the younger generations. We not only cover what’s hip and “in”, but we’re also a visual diary of where we are in the world on any given week. It started out visual and will always be predominantly visual, but we also want to expand on that and give people and experience where they will have words to go with what they’re seeing. We’re adding more extended captions to photos, interviewing interesting people, writing stories and profiles, and giving a more comprehensive view of our community. We’re so excited to keep turning this into a bigger part of the site and bringing you more of the features below!

Meet the WRE Team

We cannot express how grateful we are for all the help and support we have had along the way- without our friends, family, and incredible staff, this website wouldn’t be possible. In just three short years, we’ve managed to accomplish a multitude of successes capturing moments some won’t ever get the opportunity to and bringing them to you right here on Today, our current team is made up of Seth Browarnik, the founder, our four main photographers along with a few contributing ones, and our three lovely ladies who run the operations and website of WRE. Get to know a little bit more about each member of our family who works so hard to bring you the best photos possible.

Seth Browarnik, Founder

Seth Browarnik started as an in-house photographer for Ocean Drive in 1999, and was the first to bring his camera into the clubs of South Beach to shoot the celebrities. Browarnik quickly made a name for himself as “the celebrity lensman of South Beach”, with his photos glossing the pages of Ocean Drive, and holding columns at the Miami Herald,, and CBS4. He started Red Eye Productions as a full-service photo agency offering on call photography around-the-clock and exclusive content as the exclusive contributor for StarTraks Photo, one of the world’s leading photo distributors. He then created as the multi-media blog to chronicle the happenings with Red Eye Productions, which has quickly become a “must see” and “be seen on” destination.

Seth Browarnik & Gabrielle Union at the Art of Night Opening Dinner on November 30, 2011

1. While you’ve been shooting for over 15 years, what are your top three favorite moments since the WRE site launched three years ago?

In sports, the Miami Heat Championship celebrations last year. For music, being the exclusive photographer chosen by Madonna to photograph her surprise appearance at Ultra. And in events, my Art of Night and Art of Night DJ Series exhibitions.

2. How does it feel to celebrate 3 years of a successful website that grows bigger and better each year?

I don’t believe celebrating anniversaries unless they’re milestones, so let’s talk after a decade. Things come and go, so I’m glad my company has grown over the years with exceptional talent. Look at what we’ve done in three years. We’ve captivated an audience; we want to be the eyes, and now the mouth, of what goes on and will continue to go on. We’re giving people an exclusive inside look at the hottest parties. That’s been me since day one. The words exclusive and creative run through our blood, and that’s how it will always be. We built our brand based on exclusivity and taking creative photos. I’ve focused on making our photographers think instead of just shooting blindly. And we wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for all our amazing relationships and friends.

3. What makes World Red Eye?

Why we are who we are and why we shoot what we shoot is because of all of the relationships I’ve built over the last 15 years, starting when I promoted handing out flyers to today. I was always known for being at the right place at the right time, capturing those moments, knowing what people wanted to see, and capturing Miami and all things that make this city what it is. From shooting the most ghetto hip hop to the most high end, high society art fairs, and everything in between, it’s just what we do. That’s what makes us. If you look at our site, you can see through our eyes- we’re everywhere. We believe in covering Miami as a whole, and we love our city.

Nathan Valentine, Photographer

Nathan Valentine, originally from Oakland, CA, has always had a thing for cameras. He remembers stealing his mother’s old Minolta “srT sc II” on nature hikes in the Oakland Hills and starting his love affair on the trails. This affair continued through high school where he started experimenting with digital photography and graphic design, and college where at Florida International University he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. There he really began to craft his passion for photography in the dark room experiementing with developing film and prints by hand, becoming passionate about photojournalism and it’s realism, eventually becoming the Managing Photo Editor of “The Beacon” at Biscayne Bay for two years. As a leader of photography at FIU, Nathan was asked by the School of Hospitality Management to document the student experience at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival from 2008-2010, where his dedication and unique vision prompted World Red Eye to take notice and eventually offer him a position in early 2010. He’s been a member of the WRE family since the website launched.

Nathan Valentine at LIV on February 7, 2013

1. What are your top three moments at WRE since the blog launched?

First, the time at LIV when someone was doing the worm on stage during one of Cedric Gervais’ Shit Shows. There is always something crazy going on with the staff at LIV. So when Cedric Gervais’ Shit Show and Saturday night collide, I’m always on the lookout for moments like this. Second would be Swedish House Mafia at WALL during WMC. Some things you just can’t plan… Like a random call to head over to WALL during WMC. Sweaty, hot, and exploding with energy are the three best ways to describe this night, looking back over a year later with bittersweet feelings. Third is photographing Fall Out Boy during SXSW this year. If getting to be in Austin for SXSW is not humbling enough, having the opportunity to photograph a favorite band with exclusive access certainly is.

2. What’s your favorite thing to shoot?

My favorite things to shoot are atmosphere shots. They allow me to be free when I am contained.

3. If you could be any animal what would it be and why?

Well I wouldn’t be a duck, that’s for sure! I would have to say my personality resembles that of the squirrel in The Sword in the Stone when the boy somehow gets turned into it because I’m always jumping around and making funny noises.

Rodrigo Gaya, Photographer

Rodrigo Gaya was born and raised in Miami. His passion for photography started when he first picked up his aunt’s film camera to shoot football for his high school paper. He continued shooting throughout college at The Michigan Daily, the University of Michigan’s student run newspaper, where he became the Managing Photo Editor in 2008. After graduation, he returned to Miami and has since been a part of the World Red Eye team starting in 2010. With his background in photojournalism, Rodrigo is well-versed in many different types of photography and has technical knowledge with different camera and lighting systems.

Rodrigo Gaya at WRE Dinner at The Forge on March 2, 2011

1. What are your top three favorite moments and/or photos since you started at WRE?

1. It was a pretty surreal moment walking through the new Mansion layout for the first time, seeing the table entrance hallway full of images of mine from over the years. Some of my best photos of DJs and crowds being shown as a highlight in the club, is always cool walking by.

2. New Years two years ago was pretty fun. I got to photograph exclusive images at Puffy’s New Year’s Eve party at his house. Some huge celebs and very interesting people were there that night. It culminated with a select few of us in his kitchen eating pork chops. I mostly stood there quietly taking photos, but there are some things I’ll never forget. Unfortunately for you guys, Puffy didnt want them public, so you guys won’t be able to see what I did.

3. Going through my galleries on Red Eye, it’s nice seeing all the nights and days I’ve spent shooting for Red Eye. It’s actually my third year at Red Eye as well, and looking back at the body of work as a whole is astonishing. There are so many stories, people I’ve met, and photos I’ve taken that it’s hard to narrow down. From big Aoki, Afrojack, Carl Cox, Avicii and hundreds of other big DJs at Mansion to Alivin Ailey and Esperanza Spalding at the Arsht Center, and from Ultra Music Festival to Sundance, Coachella, and Lollapalooza, I’ve photographed a lot of amazing things these past three years. Well the night Dim Mak was at Mansion for WMC in 2012 was pretty crazy. Lots of fun images from that night.

2. How have you seen WRE change over the years?

When I started three years ago, our blog was a side project. It’s now become our most beloved treasure. It’s a place we can all publish our takes on the events and parties we go to, and it’s a place people all over the world can come see our work and live vicariously through our images. Also, the new office space is much more spacious than Seth’s old office at his house.

3. Who’s your idol?

I take it that an idol is someone who motivates you, someone that you can look up to for inspiration for your work. But for me, it’s the people I meet and photograph throughout the country.  Whether in Miami or California, my inspiration comes from the interesting people I meet. No matter what mood I’m in, going to an event and meeting interesting, smart, and motivated people drives me to want to photograph even more. Not everyone is worth saying hi to again, but the ones who are, the genuinely nice and honest people, keep me motivated and inspired.

Ryan Troy, Photographer & Director of Nightlife

Born and raised in Connecticut, Ryan Troy moved out of the cold after high school and attended college in Orlando at Full Sail University. After three years at sea working on cruise ships, he was looking for a new life in a fun city with an active nightlife scene. That’s when he found Miami Beach. Working at World Red Eye since May of 2011, he’s  gotten to be apart of and photograph some of the most epic nights, parties and festivals this city has had to offer.

Ryan Troy at WRE/In-House Holiday Fiesta at Baoli Miami on December 19, 2012

1. What are your top three favorite moments captured since you began at WRE?

Wow this is the tough one. There have been some legendary nights at World Red Eye. It really comes down to the times I was with my best friends. Being able to shoot LIV with Nathan and Matt for Luciano, or celebrating the end of WMC 2012 with deadmau5 at Amnesia with Seth. But seeing Pretty Lights at Ultra and FDR with Sunny and my other best friends has got to be high on the list too.

2. How is it being Director of Nightlife?

Being nightlife director has been busy but great! I make sure all the best parties are covered and no big DJs go unphotographed. I couldn’t do it without my co-workers though- we all cover each others asses all the time.

3. Who’s your favorite musical act?

I really like a variation of electronic music; it also depends on the location. What’s good at a concert hall may not be great in the club. A few of my favorite artists include Pretty Lights, (if you know me you know I’m kind of obsessed) deadmau5, Luciano and Michael Menert.
