The University of Miami MS Center for Excellence focuses its attention on the diagnosis and treatment of Multiple Sclerosis, as well as clinical research. This year they teamed up with the National MS Society’s South Florida Chapter to bring added awareness to Shop to Stop MS.

Miami Beach, FL – December 21, 2011 – The Little Lighthouse Foundation celebrated its iconic holiday party and toy drive on December 21, 2011 at the home of Aaron Resnick. Guests including Melissa Katz, Angela Santamaria, Robert Sena, Charlie Venturi, Aracibo Quintana, and Roger Duarte enjoyed a night of champagne, and Stone Crabs from George Stone Crabs and music. The party raised over $5,000.00 and attendees donated over 300 gifts for the children living at the Community Partnership for Homeless. Volunteers from the LLF then delivered the gifts to the children on Friday, December 23rd.
The LLF, www.thelittlelighthouse.org, raises funds for South Florida children and families in need as well as sends volunteers to a number of children’s organisations.

With iconic rock-n-roll group Joan Jett and the Blackhearts as the entertainment, Burn Notice star Gabrielle Anwar as the celebrity auctioneer, and the achievement of a $10 million lifetime-fundraising milestone, the affair fulfilled its namesake prophecy as “The Party of the Century.” The crowd of 900, including MLB legend Sammy Sosa, supermodel Elsa Benitez, designer Andy Hilfiger and more, rushed the dance floor during Jett’s live performance of “I Love Rock and Roll,” “Cherry Bomb” and continued to dance the night away at the fourth anniversary of the InterContinental Make-A-Wish Nightclub.
