No More Tears Fundraiser at Jimmy Choo

Friday, February 19th, 2016

1-DSC_7385_new

Coral Gables, FL – February 18, 2016 – Hundreds of Miami’s stylish philanthropists joined committee hosts Erin Newberg, Lauren Gnazzo, Rachel Alpert, Daniela Frewa, Julia Ford-Carther, and Iva Kosovic and No More Tears founder Somy Ali for a beautiful and beneficent evening of shopping, sipping and supporting at Jimmy Choo, Village of Merrick Park. The glamorous event at the designer shoe retailer benefitted No More Tears, a South Florida non-profit organization with a mission to assist and empower victims of human and sex trafficking. Between champagne toasts and decadent noshes, No More Tears founder Somy Ali made a moving speech that raised awareness of the prevalence of human and sex trafficking in the local community, and the honorable and daily efforts she and her volunteers make to help and rehabilitate its victims. A portion of the evening’s sales went directly to the No More Tears survivor programs, as no one at the organization takes a salary.

01-IMG_0888

Coral Gables, FL – November 19, 2014 – Neiman Marcus Coral Gables and Stephen Brunelle, Vice President and General Manager, welcomed designers Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard of Veronica Beard on Wednesday afternoon. Veronica Beard is an elevated American sportswear brand that strikes the balance between classic and cool. The sisters-in-law launched their eponymous brand in the Fall of 2010 with their signature dickey jacket. Their collection of perfectly designed essentials blends designer aesthetic with both wearability and ease, providing a versatile look for the woman who is trying to do it all. The success of the brand lies in the truth that they design for women they know well. In their own words, “we are our customer.” Over 50 of Miami’s fashion set came to meet the designers, along with hosts Carolina Azqueta, Melina Cisneros, Lia Porcella Costa, Cristina Echavarria, Christina Getty, Sarah Pendergast, and Maria Tettamanti. The crowd enjoyed passed bites and bubbly and sat for a fashion chat with designers as they presented their Resort 2015 Collection.

Shop-O-Holly Brunch Series

Thursday, November 21st, 2013

1-IMG_2348

Miami, FL – November 16-17, 2013 – Now in its second year, the Village of Merrick Park kicked off the holiday season with its annual Shop-O-Holly Brunch series. Featuring two local non-profit organizations—Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and United Way Women’s Leadership Program—the brunch included traditional favorites from A Joy Wallace Catering and cocktails courtesy of Zonin Prosecco and Miami Cocktail Company. Afterward, guests were encouraged to shop it up at Michael Kors, Emilio Robba, Azzurro Boutique, Carlo Pazolini, Adolfo Dominguez, Rugs by Zhaleh, Gymboree Play & Music, Luggage & More, Silvia Tcherassi, Athleta, Caché and J. Crew, who gave donations to the charities as well as gifts with purchase or discounts for those who attended the brunch. We hate to be one to dine and dash, but with discount shopping looming post brunch, it made skipping a third helping that much easier.

Herve Leger at Neiman Marcus

Thursday, March 21st, 2013

Coral Gables, FL – March 15, 2013 – If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind those sexy, body-hugging bandage dresses that have become a staple in every Miami girl’s closet, take a look below. The Chief Creative Officer of BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP is Lubov Azria, and she was in town last week presenting the Spring 2013 Hervé Léger by Max Azria Collection. Over 60 fashionistas- including Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Echevarria– gathered at the Neiman Marcus at Merrick Park for an afternoon of models strutting their stuff on the catwalk, bites, and bubbly. The Spring 2013 Collection was inspired by the patchwork and handcrafted embroidery from the quilt-making women of Gee’s Bend, Alabama. It’s very much a symbol of feminine strength with all the bold colors and cuts in the dresses and swimwear.
