Happy Friday! If you’re as ready as we are for the weekend, you’re in luck. Here, in the middle of June, we have lots going on in Miami that won’t leave you bored in the least. No matter what you’re into, there’s something for everyone this weekend, especially for dads. Waste no time and get your weekend started off right tonight, and continue the fun through Sunday. There’s concerts, anniversary celebrations, and finger-lickin’ deliciousness. Get ready to have an awesome weekend!
Dragonette at Grand Central
It’s Friday night, and Canadian electronic band Dragonette is in town. They’re performing live at Grand Central tonight, which was just recently voted by Miami New Times as the Best Live Music Venue, so you know it’s going to be good. Usually when they come into town, it’s to do two or three songs at a club. But this time, fans are in for a treat with a full-on live show with the release of their recent album, Body Parts. The opening act is Nightbox and you can still get tickets here.
Capital Cities at Bardot
Another great live music act in store for Friday night is Capital Cities at Bardot. The indie pop band is returning for the first time since Ultra Music Festival in March to give an intimate show at the Midtown venue. Miami’s music enthusiasts are definitely not in a shortage of things to do this weekend, and are even faced with a bit of a dilemma. Either way, it’s bound to be a musically-inclined Friday night.
Miami Romance Month at the James Royal Palm
In case you didn’t know, June is Miami Romance Month, and with that comes tons of great deals for you and your beau. From restaurants to excursions to wedding location deals to hotel steals, there are a lot of promotions going ont his month to encourage cupid and all his antics. One that’s worth checking into (pun intended) is at the James Royal Palm. Book a night or two this month for their R+R Retreat, where you’ll get your choice of massage and spa treatment and a custom dinner from head chef of Florida Cookery, Kris Wessel, complete with a bottle of wine chosen by Cookery’s resident sommelier.
Bamboo 1 Year Anniversary
With all the big musicians, DJs, and celebrities who have been at Bamboo in the past year, it’s hard to believe the club is only a year old. Since they opened last year on Washington Avenue, Bamboo has been consistently some great parties. From Industry Tuesdays to Prestige Sundays, there’s always an exciting time to be had here, and this weekend is no exception. This Saturday, they celebrate their One Year Anniversary with Showtek in the DJ booth, and it’s sure to be a wild night of partying as they turn one year old. Check out some of the best moments from the past year below.
Father’s Day Brunch at Pride & Joy BBQ
Sunday is a day for dad’s. You want to do right by your old man this Father’s Day, and what better way than to feed him delicious barbecue? Nothing says manly food like chowing down at Pride & Joy BBQ in Wynwood. Order your padre a big ol’ slab of BBQ ribs with all the right fixins and wash it down with any one (or three) of their long list of brews.
