1) If you wear a red, white or blue item, only wear one!! I wore it on the Today Show to get into the theme, but if you decide to go “themey” pick one and base your outfit around it.

2) You can eat whatever you want on the 4^th, so eat healthy until Sunday so you can enjoy a BBQ and firweorks.

3) Take a lot of pictures: make this the year when you actually “take” pictures so you can remember the fabulous time you had!

4) Wear sun block…a sunburn is never attractive.

5) Enjoy! When Going to someones’s home, bring something other than a bottle of wine. Be creative!

How To Get Beach Ready For Summer

1) Get a spray tan… there is nothing worse than walking onto the beach pale! I like Loreal’s Spray tan (available at drugstores)

2) Buy spf towelettes– stay out the sun! sunscreen is now made in a towelette (which will fit in your wallet) you can use it once and then throw the wipe away so there is no excuse! www.tocca.com

3) Invest in speakers that are portable. ihomeaudio.com has great speakers ($39) and you can charge it right through your computer. The sound is great, they are portable, and nice looking.

4) Workout 2 more days than you already do… self-explanatory. Get into shape!! you’ll feel better. I like my David Barton spin classes.

5) Look cute when you go to the beach! don’t just throw an old tee over your bathing suit. You never know who you will run into on your way to catch some rays!

3- INVEST IN WHITE FLIP-FLOPS. YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO WEAR HEELS TO BE SEXY. ADD A PAIR OF WHITE FLIP FLOPS (I LOVE HAVIANNAS) TO A CUTE SUMMER DRESS. COMFORT IS KEY!

4- GET RID OF ANYTHING IN YOUR CLOSET YOU HAVENT WORN IN A YEAR! IF YOU DIDN’T WEAR IT LAST SUMMER YOU ARE NOT WEARING IT THIS SUMMER….DONATE IT AND MAKE ROOM FOR FAB OPTIONS.

5- INVEST IN A GOOD BRA- A NUDE BRA WILL GO UNDER ANYTHING AND MAKE ANY OUTFIT LOOK BETTER. WHAT YOU WEAR UNDERNEATH IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS WHAT YOU ARE WEARING! I LOVE COMMANDO’S.

6- MAN OR WOMAN: GET A WHITE BUTTON DOWN. I LOVE BROOK’S BROTHERS BECAUSE IT IS MADE WITH A NO-WRINKLE MATERIAL THAT YOU CAN WASH AND THROW IN THE DRYER. I LOVE WEARING A WBD TO THE BEACH. SO SEXY!

7- SELF TANNER! THERE IS NOTHING WORSE THAN WALKING ONTO THE BEACH PALE (NOT TO MENTION THE SUN IS BAD FOR YOU!) I LOVE CLARINS SELF TANNER…AND NO, IT DOSEN’T MAKE YOU TURN ORANGE!

8- MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PAIR OF JEANS THAT FIT YOU. NOTHING IS SEXIER THAN A GREAT PAIR OF JEANS BUT MOST PEOPLE HAVE TOO MANY PAIRS THAT DON’T FIT PERFECTLY.  I LOVE MY RIPPED SEVENS MADE OF ORGANIC COTTON. WWW.SEVENOFALLMANKIND.COM
