Basel, Switzerland – June 12, 2013 – Not only did hip hop mogul Kanye West surprise all the art folk when he showed up for Art Basel yesterday, but he further shocked everyone by making a last minute announcement that there would be a listening party presented by Design Miami/ for his upcoming, unreleased album. The Yeezus listening session was announced early on Wednesday for an 11pm (Basel time) event at Design Miami/ Basel 2013 with West himself. This falls just two days after an impromptu listening session in New York City, one day after an in-depth interview with West came out in the New York Times, and just six days before the highly anticipated album’s release date. The album has already generated a lot of chatter, and the Basel-goers across the pond crowd are now amongst those who get a personal sneak peek.
