42BELOW Vodka’s Cocktail World Cup

Miami, FL – August 6, 2012 - 22 top regional finalists who competed from 11 different cities from the United States competed for the chance to travel to New Zealand and represent the USA in 42BELOW Vodka’s Cocktail World Cup 2012 (CWC). Two bartenders competed per heat, a total of eleven heats. The three top winners will now travel on to Queenstown, New Zealand, where they will compete against elite bartending teams from around the world. The winners and new members of Team USA are: Beckaly Franks from Clyde Common, Portland, Oregon, Steve Schneider from Employees Only, New York, New York, and Ken Kodys from Root Down, Denver, Colorado.

The competition took place in Miami at the art gallery Primary Projects and brought together the top two bartenders from 11 of the greatest cocktail cities in America. From here, the winners will travel on to New Zealand, the home of premium vodka 42Below, where the competition will test their skills in ways that no bartender is truly prepared for – they’ll face a series of extreme challenges that include mixing and serving cocktails while bungee jumping.
